All toes? Inflammatory arthritis could but I'd be surprised if PMR would.

As well as inflammatory arthritis it could be gout.

I have pain in my feet most of the time. I no longer really notice it unless it interferes with my walking. I attribute it to poorly designed feet which have been affected by osteoarthritis most of my life, so a combination of mechanical issues, plus an overlay of arthritis. Not PMR in my case anyway.

What's your hba1c? If they get red and sore to touch you may be flirting with high blood sugar and neuropathy. Does it feel like arthritis type pain or different?

I have an unholy mess of flaming toes at the moment but it isn't to do with my GCA / PMR but because of circulation and peripheral neuropathy that I had for years and is more likely to be linked to my EDS/ Fibro.

I have always got it worse in the jumping temperatures from outdoors to indoors during cold , damp weather . My GP used to say it was circulation causing chilblains for me , then they thought gout , now they are convinced it's my old Neuropathy and Raynaud's. Oh and they give me Chilblains!!😥😋

The only thing they were sure of was that they didn't think it was being made worse by the Pred and that it was something on it's own and more likely to cause more Pain in my PMR if it affects my walking and makes me tense , rather than being part of my GCA/ PMR symptoms .

My Aunt and Mother gets it in Winter they have OA and RA , my Uncle gets it in Winter from his Psoriasis. My husband gets tingling sore toes sometimes from Diabetes more often in winter because of circulation and damper toes caused by thicker socks.

Well I had inflamed blue toes for about 3 months when I was on 80 mg pred and then the intensity has come down as the inflammation of GCA was brought under control slowly . I am now stepping down on the pred and now at 8 mg. The toes still look a little bluish and my doctors concluded that it was a Raynaud condition brought on by the circulation issues of GCA . The key is to keep checking that the Raynaud is not going too far. Keep the toes covered and dust them with powder to keep them dry , not allowing any infections to develop .

Regards
