Further update on my situation, as spoken of previously plus a request for advice please if anyone has relevant experience. Had a biopsy on Monday, no result as yet. I have been feeling good since being back on Prednisolone, 40 mg daily but today I do not feel very good so, is it possible that the 40mg is no longer adequate or am I just having a bad day. Perhaps I should add that I have been encouraged by feeling good and maybe have been to ambitious with what I have done for the past few days.
Advice please: Further update on my situation, as... - PMRGCAuk
Advice please
Could be either or both. You’re obviously worried until you get your results from TAB so that won’t be helping overall.
I know it’s sounds trite, but try not to worry, the TAB’s been done and some of your feelings may be a result of that. You are being treated correctly, but it might be an idea to make a note of any symptoms or just exactly how you feel. You then have something to refer to as the days go on, and obviously if things get any worse to need to seek medical advice.
In what way are you not feeling very good?
When I was up to 40 mgs I felt like wonder woman I got a lot of stuff done around here. But alas it didn’t last long.
If you tried to catch up what you hadn't been doing while feeling unwell - that alone is enough to account for feeling less well. Everyone varies in how they feel from day to day - but to feel well you have also to do your bit!!!! You have a serious systemic autoimmune illness - REST is as much a part of management as the pills!
It will be a bit of everything .
Your body has ups and downs when it first adjusts to new medication so the pain has ups and downs too in the first few weeks to a month until the inflammation is fully under control.
If you have tried to catch up on jobs or felt more energy so followed the " Old Normal" of being busy until you were tired that will have brought on a rebound of inflammation , pain and tiredness.
These conditions force us to make adjustments and learn to pace ourselves , doing less at a time and having regular rests in-between activities , even Mental ones. It's what I like to call the " New Normal". In the Early Days it's good to listen to your body , learn what your triggers are for symptoms and reduce those activities or avoid them , and don't get tricked into doing too much if the Steroids make you feel like an Energiser Bunny, give yourself Plenty of " Me " time and TLC instead.
