Hi. I have been on Prednesilone for 12 weeks now, hovering around 40mgs, 30mgs and now on 20mgs. SLeep terrible. 20mgs not effective , but I don't want to increase, seeing Consultant in one month, the plan was 10mgs next week

Hi SarahBournemouth, I presume you are taking the pred for asthma/breathing issues as you usually post on asthma forum. High dose pred does interfere with your sleep. I presume you will be advised regarding the dose by the consultant. We have polymyalgia Rheumatica and giant cell Arteritis and take pred long term on a slow taper so we are not all at such high doses or reducing so quickly. I hope your sleep improves and you start to feel better soon. 🌻

As Poopadoops has said, this is a forum for another condition which doesn't use pred in the same way you do for asthma.

Hi Sarah, although this may the wrong forum for you, it does seem a waste of time taking tablets that do not work at a particular dose and also give you side effects at that dose.
