Now, now Scats. There is nothing wrong with my favourite colour purple! I have bright purple hair, and wear lots of bright purple, with purple handbag and shoes. Looks great (so I am told weirdly by many shop assistants in particular) especially with a splash of teal, turquoise and / or lime green. I am indeed a vision of purple.
When Daughter 2 was born in Germany she weighed a mere 1090g/2lbs 4 oz. They rushed her from the theatre in the obstetric department to the baby intensive care unit - who looked at her and said they weren't taking her, nothing wrong with her, just small! Which left the baby unit in a panic as they'd never had such a small baby to look after before!!
Actually I really can't understand that people don't seem to want to get/be old. Why? Every age has it's golden moments. I love not to have to go....., eat....., speak to that idiot, listen to rubbish on the radio, etc etc.
At least no-one makes a thing about being out of step when you aren't perceived as young!!! I do as I like - and I'm proud of the wrinkles - they came from smiles and experience.
I think my life is basically like a wrinkly teenagers. Everything has got better in my life as each decade goes by. So my body gone to pot, but it means that instead of whizzing through one thing onto the next, I spend more time enjoying what I am doing.
I remember my mum saying she got shock when she looked in the mirror cos she felt 16. It is funny how inside bears no relation to outside. At 46 I felt 102....and looked 120. ¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯
I agree with you and so does my friend - she says it’s good to feel young but tell your body that - it just ignores us and does it’s own thing!
I always recall my elderly aunt having her cataracts done but still wore her glasses, which she didn’t need! When I asked her why she said because she didn’t like what she saw!
😂😂😂 bless. My grandma pointed at her self and asked who it was.. you of course..I look as old as Methuselah!!!! She was born in 1899 so was in her 70s or 80s.
Bless her! Think they all had something to say about themselves back then......
My Aunt was 21 days short of her 100th birthday when she died two years ago. She'd already received her card from the Queen so we kept it. She was in her 90s when she commented re her appearance - she had a great sense of humour and chuckled after she'd said it!
I’d take that Constance - must have given you a real chuckle. Just shows there’s lots more worse off than us. Don’t get too clever though! 🧘♂️🧘♂️🧘♂️
Since then I have realised how lucky I am. I felt really 'yucky' when I went to the doctor, 3rd UTI in four months (e-coli), PMR playing up, arthritis bad, etc etc.
When I was refused as being "too healthy" I had to laugh and thought "what must those poor people in the geriatric ward be going through"?
I am at home, can do what I want to do, when I want to, go out for an expensive meal, annoy my husband.😂 Life's great!
