Latest rheumy visit

I had my 6 monthly appt with my rheumy on Monday.

I am happy with me, she is happy with me. I have no PMR symptoms of note.

She doesn't want to see me now until I am down to 4mg (EEK!)

I am happy not to see her until then, am not sure how long it's going to take me to get to 4mg from my current 8mg.

Following morning I took 7mg (Tues) and oddly have not noticed it. I wonder whether I will tomorrow....I hope not. Will do 7mg on Tuesday next and then do 2 days at 7mg the following week.

Looking forward to storms tonight and tomorrow to end this heatwave. I laid beneath a damp towel for first hour last night , it was heaven. Hoping not to need to do that tonight but at least I know I can.

Well done you , that's great news and with all that positivity I'm sure you will succeed.

Take it slow and I hope you don't have to sleep like a squishy Mummy wrapped in a wet towel for too much longer!

Hugs xx😘

It sounds like things are moving in the right direction. That's always good.

Putting nightwear on freezer for 30mins before bed tonight. See how that works.

lol...I don't wear nightwear!

Damp towel again last night was bliss.

I get even hotter without. 🥵🤣🤣🤣

I started wearing something after I fell on the starts and got burns from the carpet. 😱

Only when it's as hot as it has been for the past two nights does what I call my Montalbano nightdress see the light. Very short, black, strappy and totally unsuitable for a 79 yr old. But so cool and comfortable! (All the Sicilian women in the Inspector Montalbano films shown on BBC 4 seem to wear things like this during the day coupled with impossibly high heels, not a look I would have sought even when I was much younger).

🤣🤣🤣 as long as it's keeping you cool and comfortable that's all that matters.

Maria, this sounds very interesting! 😉

Ouch...no carpet here, stairs are wooden. Would need full armour to protect me if I fell down them.

Maybe you could continue reducing at 0.5mg rather than full mg. Nice and slow. Good luckxx

Sounds like she really trusts your self- care. That’s got to be good. Although this heat is oppressive, I have had less pain, in fact none to speak of except a muggy head.
