another flare up forgot meds for one day was on holiday found them in my pocket next day,bad pain bad tummy, had to rest a couple of days the heat didn't help. I'm trying to reduce from 12mg down to 10mg.Gp says don't reduce if your in pain. had a blood test will wait for the results. its been three years, hard going didn't think my retirement would be like this always did lots walking played sports,I've learned so much from all of you, I owe you all so much.

At least you have a sensible GP!

It's happened to everyone at some point and you probably need a couple of days at 12 or even a day or two at 15mg and go back to where you were. But dropping from 12 to 10 in one step is a bit much for many people - do you use a slow taper approach?

In addition to PMRPro’s advice. I wonder if you are a bit poorly ( stomach upset.) your blood tests won’t tell you much because you are taking Pred. Maybe you forgot your pills on holiday because you forgot that you were ill, that has to be good on one level.Walking on the flat seems ok to me. You just need to design a different retirement for now. Some people seem to manage golf . We need to get creative. This blip will pass as long as you don’t hurry too much. 🌸

I have forgotten doses several times and double dosed occasionally....and that's using a pillbox. It settles but missing a dose definitely worse!

The heat really affects me and makes me feel dreadful. Like sheffieldjane says you may be festering a bug. Go by your symptoms. A few times I have felt a flare starting and bombed my body with a couple of days at 5mg extra then back to the dose I was on. If i have had to do this more than once in a taper period I definitely knew I wasn't ready for a reduction. Better a couple of mgs for a month than back to 15mg until inflammation controlled again.
