Earlier I asked if I should just taper taper more quickly since I felt so good and secretly thought PMR might be burned out and I didn't know it yet...and you all said No! do not drop down fast. AND my doctor ALSO said ... Stick with your the taper you have been doing (close to DSNS..but not a stickler..sometimes slower sometimes a tad more quickly but pretty much DSNS) you don't want a flare! So once again I love my Doctor. He has, through it all, been on YOUR side!

Doctor's Advice
Hi Yogabonnie! Just a tip from the sideline...i have Crowed several times, that my PMR was extinguishing. Each time, I came back with the humble acknowledge that I was too speedy in my assessment, and my PMR was alive and well, chugging along in the background.
Just suggesting you follow your docs plan, and continue your conservative taper. You will reach the end of this illness when your body permits, and not before. I found pushing my taper landed me in the mud in my pretty new dress🥺 , 3 times!
I am at 6 years post diagnosis and wish I could say I'm cured. Alas, I have little confidence.
Keep trying, you may make it this time.🌺
Kind regards, Jerri
PMR diagnosed 2013
I love this site. I have two very good doctors who are happy with my progress so they continue to let me float my own boat. I give credit to this site💗💗
f/m, diagnosed 1/16, currently 4mg/3.5mg.
Yes I give credit to this site for all the best advice and information I've got from it. My doctor also let's me 'float my own boat' He reckons I seem well informed from this forum too, even if it did mean I refused alendronic acid 🤭 my taper has been slow but I'm happy with that. Not a race, which I also read on here.
Glad you are getting good advice from your doctor too. 😉 Enjoy your family visiting
Good man!!
He sounds like a safe pair of hands. I hope you are on the home stretch though. 🌺
