10 days Free of Pred! 3 years left to recover!

I have been reading others experience of being pred free and I thought about my own experiences over the last two and a bit years from diagnosis. I was relieved to re PMRpro say that some people take up to a year to get back to normal. I think that has really helped me contextualise. I am only ten days in and have had some sort of ear problem and a flare up of my tooth problems. So am guessing pred may have been masking something there? I am a little stiff if I sit for a while but it isn’t getting worse and I certainly don’t get what I would call pain. I get easily tired but that’s measuring against my standards! I mean I am tired if I go shopping for 3 hours!

So what I think I have learnt is coming of pred isn’t the end it’s part of the journey and I now have to help my body recover.

I am 54 now. I work full time and managed to have a modified life outside work. My aim now is to use the next 3 years to recover so I am in peak condition for my retirement😀.

So it seems every stage requires patience and that’s even without a flare!

Happy Easter everyone.

Julie

Many find 7mg a difficult dose, but hang on in there, try occasionally to taper, one day it will happen.

Try my taper -see Pinned posts - and just do 0.5mg at a time.

Happy Easter Julie - you have something to celebrate! I'm approaching 3 years since diagnosis and just about to start DSNS to 6.5mg. (after 3 flares along the way!)
