Not really been on the site for a month or so. No reason, just been busy with lots of things. Anyway woke up this morning feeling really sick and really shaking. I had a meet up with a friend who said I looked pale and unwell As the afternoon went on I couldn't remember what our conversation was about. I would answer and forget what I was saying in the middle of my reply. I felt as if my mouth and face wasn't in coordination with each other. Also my legs wouldn't be in coordination with each has other. Anyone else had this. Just a thought new on 6mgs of Pred I just felt I had no muscle control. As for you ladies even my boobs were soft and saggy. Not like them (sorry you guys too much information there, and we don't want Tedski to get excited Uncle MB). Have you had anything like this anyone? I would appreciate it if you have to let me know . Just a bit worried xx

If that were to happen to me I would go see a doctor. Are you feeling better now? Get a doctor appointment anyway and tell him/her what happened.

Might it be adrenal issues? I would see your doctor and explain.

I have to agree with HeronNS l do think you need to consult your GP as soon as possible or go to A&E

It could possibly be a TIA so you need reviewing as soon as possible.

How do you feel now?

A bit better thank you . But possibly just stressed out at 5he moment But will make an appointment tomorrow to see my Doctor. It actually felt like I was going to have a stroke xx

I would be seeing the Dr to see what's happening. It could be nothing, but detachment, memory loss and softening and weakening of muscles need some sort of check.🌻

Please do, as l said it could have been a TIA so best to check.

My friend had one (covering my Job when l Retired, that says it all.....) she went to A&E never had one before or since.

Let us know how you get on.

Hubby had one whilst we were sitting watching TV, we knew something was wrong as he'd stopped shouting at the football and just kept grunting. He came out of it quite quickly and didn't know what had happened to him. Needless to say took him to the GP who sent him to TIA - it was confirmed it was a TIA but with no lasting damage and hadn't come from the heart! He has heart problems. So grateful for that, they changed his blood thinners to Clopidogrel to take for life. I do think it has changed him slightly, he isn't quite his usual self in terms of energy - just sits and sleeps a lot. x

Oh Terri, Football does put their BP up that’s for sure.

My friend who had the TIA is now on Clopidogrel, some of these Meds can make people a bit low in mood so maybe a chat with the GP next time you’re in to see him but he has had a tough year.

Hope your OK? I’m a bit 😔 will write a post after lunch! x

Good idea, we know they've to take meds and accept these subtle changes for that very reason - will mention it to GP.

I'm busy and resting in between. Got the funeral tomorrow and have to travel to Norfolk so a whole day. My lovely sister is driving us.

Hope you're okay, Speak soon.

It could be low adrenal function - your adrenal glands haven't caught up with the reduction in your oral dose of pred.

But as has already been said - it could be a TIA or it could have been a mild version of something I had called transient global amnesia (TGA) when your short term memory disappears for a short time, typically 4 or 5 hours, and then suddenly returns although you don't remember that period. I can't tell you much about that - I can't remember either of them!! It does require proper assessment to distinguish one from t'other but there is no treatment for a TGA. It just resolves on its own.

But please folks: when you have an episode like that, however brief it may be, PLEASE call the emergency services, 999 in the UK, not 111. It may progress to a proper stroke and there is a limited golden window to initiate treatment to ensure a full recovery. Don't wait for a GP appointment - the paramedics much prefer to be able to tell you it's all fine after all than to have to take a semi-moribund patient to A&E when there may be little therapeutic option.
