NHS. Win Court Ruling Against Drug Companies!

This has to be good news for most of us in the UK & beyond! We all want research & development to cure or aid our ailments! Have to respect their costs in doing this. They don't like proven competition however it seems!!!

Northerners don't give up easily and the folk on the local news who had been having the treatment (£28 a go) found no difference between that and the two previously, both above £500 .................

When all the research and production costs are accounted for why does the initial price never come down. I know..................... profit.............and large salaries, but not for the cleaners.

Very true. The whole system is out of kilter & money is wasted!

I don't mind shareholders at all without them some companies would not exist.

However, the average returns should in some way - be related to how much the minimum wage goes up every year, with say an additional 5%.

The disgusting thing here was that the original had come out of patent - so the company "developed" the eye version under a different name to prolong the patent protection. It is a far smaller dose but hospital pharmacies realised it was the identical substance and started making up lower doses for the eye clinic themselves - getting umpteen out of one vial of the original.

Another example is with Fosamax - they added vit D to the alendronic acid and presented it as a "New option".
