My last posting on Monday could well have been my last posting!! Moments after I descended the stairs turned into the kitchen diner & .....!!!!!!!! I came round with blood pouring from a head wound & my wife on the phone calling 999! My brain was clear & I spoke to them over the phone but it was a mystery what had happened! Had I tripped or not? Certainly caught my head on the corner of a chair seat. Ambulance came within 15mins. Great crew with a trainee paramedic on board. QE.Hospital Birmingham A&E. Assessment area--to HDU --overnight observation--scans,blood tests,interviews etc.---monitoring ward ECGs etc --results ok---night move to another ward----discharge late Wednesday afternoon. No conclusive diagnosis yet but will be booked for wearing a 24 hour heart monitoring device at home. Brilliant & hard working the staff of this hospital were. Can't thank them enough. Great to be back home & get some sleep & step into the garden. Thanks for listening hope you had a better last few days! ATB

My experience of A & E in Bradford has been wonderful - some of us are so lucky.
Very true Rugger. What the staff have to put up with as well with some of the patients.
So sorry this awful thing happened to you,it sounds as though it could have been a mini stroke,as they are going to monitor you at home,two friends of mine have had these strokes which l believe were probably brought on by the very hot weather.l hope that this will not be the reason for your sudden ‘ blip’,the hospital have given you excellent observation and l am sure they will find the reason soon.l love your garden photo’ s,and l always find your posts very helpful. Wow that must have been scary for both of you. Fingers crossed they find nothing and it's put down to the heat or something. Take care and wear knee pads and a helmet just in case, great fashion statements ⛑️

My daughter has a trainee in tow at present - at least yours didn't get to practise intubation like hers did. 
You really do need to take a bit more gin with it! Do tell us if they find anything. But be grateful you were at the bottom of the stairs and not the top...
Very true! We have steep stairs that force concentration. See your logic on the gin! You mean I wouldn't have noticed anything had happened!!

Thanks. DL. As usual a different personality turned up for myself in hospital & I was able to tune in to some of other peoples lives & experiences. Helped me forget my own fears! Watching & talking to the younger hard working staff you see how it really is. Some great moments with them. Hope the knee is going ok & not too painful.ATB
Getting there! At least I now feel a bit more normal - whatever that is - and BP slowly coming back up!
Wife had problems with low bp after her hip ops. It was feet up & careful how you get up but you would know that DL. Felt for a while I was wearing someone else's leg with my hip op! No idea for a knee but know they are more tricky ops.ATB
What a horrible shock for both you and your wife. I fell earlier in the year, crashing down on a side table. Over balanced getting up from kneeling down to sort out husbands vast collection of magazines. To save myself I put my hand on the armchair which is on castors, it moved! I now have a crooked nose to remember the event. Beautiful garden.

Spot on Rosebud. They have been very good in my experiences. I use to play in the farm & cow fields where this hospital is built. I know the area very well! Most of us in the street spent a lot of the school holidays here.

Cheers Jane. It was only a few hours after having a positive docs appointment as well! The emergency services were excellent & the follow up thoroughness,clinical, nursing & other staff excellent too. I had the privilege of seeing this on the front line. Some great people there. Always some quibbles that's the human race! None from me today. Well done NHS.
They always come through in an emergency. Paramedics are wonderful people in my experience.
Yes. They & other frontliners need special qualities to deal with what is happening kindly & effectively,

Feeling not too bad thanks. Had a stroll round Manor Farm park & fed the ducks & coots which was very soothing. The big outdoors does it for me! Didn't have any sort of view while in hospital & couldn't go very far with my entourage of bleeping equipment on wheels! Wary coming down the stairs though now!
I bet you are wary of coming down stairs. I have been since this darn thing started though, I do have balance issues, I daren’t stand on chairs to reach things etc.
Manor Park wow! That takes me back.
The remains of the thatched roofed barn have now been cleared after the arson. The park volunteers are trying to raise money to build a replica that will be fire proof & provide other facilities. Little council money going into the parks,huge staff cutbacks! Needs a new Cadbury type benefactor! It was the poor kids from Brum who had a day out from the industrial grime who used that barn years ago. Different times but it was an iconic barn.

I wondered where you were, your absence was noted! I'm pleased you're back home and hopefully it isn't anything serious - bet the garden was pleased to see you too! I suggest you take more water with it next time! I shall be 'missing' next week but will be back!
Still not a real diagnosis yet but I feel ok. It's another wake up call to sniff those roses!! Have a good week in Yorkshire. Used to do a lot of hill walking there years ago Pennine Way,Horton etc. Lovely county. EH.UP!
The same's happening to my sister, she was in town and could feel herself going, next thing there was a crowd around her - apparently this chap could see she wasn't well and caught her as fell otherwise who knows what state she'd be in - some weeks later still doing tests, cardiology at the moment, she daren't go out alone now. So the moral is they may never find out! The paramedics were Angels literally, she even got a call from them an hour later to check on her as she opted not to go to hospital, a decision she now regrets.

Thanks. Think it's probably a combination of factors resulting in a bad heart rhythm. I have atrial fib. as well.
It can be confidence shattering so I hope your sister gets the nod! Wife's dad was born in Pudsey. The purple flowers are Persicaria amplexicaulis. Tough plant & can be a bit of a thug but great ground cover.

Thank you and they don't seem to think it's an emergency as appt not until 22 August! If she has another attack before then she's been told it's 999! Pudsey not far son lives in Tingley, Wakefield. Are you in Southampton? Don't know the plant names like you but all looks lovely as usual. Enjoy this lovely weather and keep cool.
