So sorry to hear this. I was tested for it but I was clear. I’ve got a feeling that PMRPro has this diagnosis.
We all so hope that once we are off Pred that will be that, but I guess it’s not for many of us, given our age group. I hope this doesn’t interfere too much with your life.
Yes. I have Atrial Fib. diagnosed 5 years ago after a minor stroke. On Warfarin for 2.5 years. My test level readings were often all over the place for no reason & the dosage adjusted. Now on Apixaban which does not require regular blood sampling. Much better.
Also take Bisopropol (Beta Blocker) prescribed last year after being on the steroids for 6 months.
I feel for you! I was the other way round in that I had AF/AFlutter for a few years, had an ablation in 2016 which was very successful although I have occasional bursts of tachycardia but I was able to stop the Bisoprolol and Rivaroxoban (modern anti coagulant) shortly after the ablation. Diagnosed and started steroids for PMR in March this year. Have been experiencing some short episodes of AF again recently.
I think I am as upset/worried/annoyed at having to take steroids as I was about the other two drugs!
Before my diagnoses I had never heard of either condition, but I have no idea if there is any link...
Bummer... so sorry to hear this. Just when you think it's safe to go back in the water....

I was diagnosed with a/f 5+ years ago - cardiologist thinks it is due to the autoimmune part of PMR. I am on other a/f medication too - and was on a version of warfarin until a couple of years ago when my INR went mad for some reason and I was switched to a new generation anticoagulant - no blood tests!!!!!
I have found that the a/f is fine at 9mg, there at 8mg and unliveable with at 7mg!
