Anything in particular?

Legs are very often wobbly, and often feel as if they belong to someone else!

Plus many on here have arthritis as well, so difficult to know what is that and what PMR.

I'll be watching this post closely as I was just told yesterday I need a total knee replacement, as I have "degenerative arthritis" in my knee. ...but it has bothered me for a few years now, so not sure if related in any way to PMR/GCA.

Oh that’s a 🤬 it never rains but it pours ☔️ Hope it’s not too painful as often the Pred masks these issues.

I’ve had knee issues since l was young & had surgery on Left when l was 16 & on the Right when l was 17 🙁

Both medial ligaments were repositioned & screwed in place. My kneecaps used to subluxate 😱 like dislocation but the kneecap returned rather than staying dislocated.

But Chemo affected them badly wearing away behind the patella! But for now l just hope for the best 🙏🏼

Take Care

I have had a dodgy right knee for years but bursitis or housemaids knee was new with PMR and I understand it can be what pmrpro calls an add-on.

I had keyhole on my right knee some years back. Other than stiffness I haven't had too much trouble except three times since November (PMR diagnosis) sporadically woken with severe pain and had to get up and breathe before going back to sleep. Osteo and I puzzled and haven't bothered telling Dr.

I had niggly pains in my knees in early PMR but they went after starting pred. I haven't had any problems unilt recently - but the knee I broke skiing some 27 years ago is now making itself known. Don't think it is the PMR!

My orthopaedic surgeon said that taking steroids had possibly affected my hip, I had a total hip replacement recently.

I have developed OA in both knees and a hip since having PMR. They all need replacing!

I have knees that swell and give me a sharp pain as I’m coming downstairs. These symptoms pre-date PMR. In fact Pred helped at the higher doses but now I am at 7 mgs the knees are playing up again. I think it is probably more a matter for a physiotherapist and not PMR related.

My PMR progressed to Rheumatiod Atheritis and Osteo Artheritis and

Tendonitis. Many joint problems ,knees as well . Massive rotor cuff tear in shoulder ,I don't know if that it also part of it all but yes knee problems with all the joint problems .My doctor says this is all linked .It could be Artheritis perhaps .We get used to thinking everything is down to the PMR don't we .

I have pains in both knees. My doctor sent me for X-rays on them which ruled out OA

I had pain in both knees prior to diagnosis of PMR & GCA; the pain went away with the prednisone, but came back last week when I had a flare going from 16.25 to 15

Yes left knee got painful after I was diagnosed 2 years ago in fact it is my legs that are my only problem at the moment. Stairs are a problem and walking turns my legs into lead and I ca nt walk another step.....ok with the shopping trolley though. I was on 5mg but amtrying to come off them altogether so fingers crossed I suppose I can put up with lead legs if nothing else hurts. 🤔

My PMR pains locations move around my knee caps, top, bottom, back for no apparent reason, and different areas of my hands too throughout the day. Nothing is logical or predetermined about these pains. We are all unique.
