Is there a support group for GCA near Norwich? I am feeling isolated as the side effects of the prednisolone are so bad, but it would be good to talk to others with GCA. I know I am lucky that it was picked up and sent to rheumatology so quickly. At least I have saved a fortune on my central.

Hi, I live in Norfolk, I have PMR not GCA, (6 years) sorry you are having to deal with this, but you will more than likely find your answers more on here than the N&N if that's where you went for diagnosis, and as unlucky as me, with my experience there. I have been to one meeting last year at Nottcutts, and waiting for a post on here for the next one. Hopefully will see you there.
Good luck......
Hi, just checked, next meeting, 14th May, 10.30am. Nottcutts, Daniels Road. If well enough, maybe see you there.
Bit far to qualify, Sharon, living in Auckland New Zealand. I have no local support, except an excellent doctor and rheumatologist, but this forum and another dedicated to PMR/CGA have made up for it - and the excellent advice and empathy from all who follow.
All the best. Cheers
Hi. I see someone has posted about the next meeting at Nottcutts. I can recommend the cheese scones there. I live in Norwich so don't feel isolated, I have GCA too. Send me a personal message if you need a chat before then.
Unlike Longtimer I have found the N&N absolutely brilliant looking after me. Maybe that is for GCA rather than PMR? Were you diagnosed by scan?
Don't suffer in silence. There are ways to alleviate the side effects of steroids. take care. X
Hi Sharon. It looks as though they meet for a cuppa at Notcutts to discussGMA and PMR
I live just outside Norwich. Now I've descovered the group, hopefully my hubby will go too !
