Why do I feel so terrible. Been in bed feeling exhauated . Pred text wouldn't let me spell it correctly. Usually up an on. Today not. Preds athe 6mg iso terrible. But I don't want to go up again. Because I will have to come down. Tried slow every few weeks. Didn't work. It'seems the fatigue I hate. Maybe just sleep and get over that fatigue. Help.

Might be your Adrenals, might be the bitter Scottish winter. Monitor it closely. I often get a good day after one like that - it forces you to rest and close the systems down.
Can sympathise, me too and I’m only going from 10 to 9.5 on DSNS method goodness knows what I’ll be like when I get lower. Wiped out but can’t sleep which is why I’m here in the middle of the night. Will have to try again. Hope you have a good day tomorrow. 😴
Sorry to hear this Morrison... Yesterday was a fabulous day for me, but Tuesday was horrid! I felt so poorly all day! I laid down on the couch to read for a bit and feel asleep for 3 hours!!!! That's not a nap, that's a "Pred Night's Sleep!'
Hopefully this will pass soon.
HA! PMRpro called it on Monday when she sent out the post regarding 'minding your spoons' to all of you that posted/reported your active day.
I, myself, was home from work Monday not feeling well, so I watched it all with great interest from a couch with a pillow, blanket, cat, and bad daytime tv, i.e. Maury: "Diane, are you sure Martin is the father of your child?" Diane: "Oh yes, Maury, I am 1,000% positive Martin is the father of my baby." Maury: "I have the results of the DNA test" (Shows the unopened envelope. Opens it was great grandeur.) " Martin, you are NOT the father." Diane runs out to the studio screaming. I would have changed the channel but the tv remote was just out of my reach and I would have had to get up. Darn PMR!
Glad your feeling better, Mamici1.
OH MY GOODNESS ... that was hysterical!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
Sorry you feeling so terrible, morrison. Nobody likes to up the Pred, but if it improves your wellbeing, go up. It's not forever. I was on 4mg for a long time, but have had to go to 7mg and am feeling good. Give it a try. ps I don't mean go up to 7mg. x
Sorry to hear you are feeling so rough. I tried to drop from 6mgm to 5 In November and felt wiped out and really ill. Luckily I have a good GP who told me to go back to 6, and stay there - for 4 months.
Went back to see her this spring feeling a lot better. The drop to 5 over 3 weeks then worked so well that I hardly noticed it. Then, out of the blue, came a day last week when I slept till 11, showered and dressed, sat down by the fire “for 10 minutes” and fell asleep till 4. Have felt really tired since.
My (limited) experience is that there is no rhyme or reason as to when the fatigue strikes, but when it does the best and only thing you can do is give in and rest till it passes - just as you have done. Good luck x
Hi Morrison,
Sorry to hear you are feeling bad. I am dropping from 8 to 7.5, in 3rd week of reduction, feel really tired and pain in left thigh. We have a holiday booked to Malta in a few weeks, hoping I will feel better by then, if not I will up the Pred. to 8 again.
Hope you feel better soon, big hugs xx
I'm still a relative newcomer to PMR compared with so many others. I can't offer med advice at all. I guess one thing I've learned here is to "accept" and just like life has its ups and downs, there lies the way ahead for steroid usage. Be kind to yourself and remember you are doing brilliantly to have got this far. Stay strong.
So sorry you are unwell. Tapering is not linear as we all wish it would be. How ‘bout trying an increase of 1/2 mg? You may have no choice but increase. I am in 2nd week of going from 11 to 10. Had increased neck and leg pain during snow storm yesterday. Going to Cape Cod tomorrow. If I don’t feel better, I’ll stay at 11 for a few days. Flexibility is the lesson.
I am feeling exactly the same - reduced from 9 mg to 8.5 over a month, now been on 8.5 for two weeks and am utterly fatigued and if I do too much feel really unwell. The conundrum is do you try and come through it hoping your body will readjust or do you go up a bit, which I am so reluctant to do having battled down to this dose.
Hope you feel better soon.
Hi morrison
From personal experience would say adrenals all the way! Some days from my very slow reduction from 6mg to 3mg I felt absolute rubbish (well worse than that, but trying to be polite!)
So long as it’s not a permenant thing, and only comes along on the odd day, although for no apparent reason, you just have to ride with it.
The slower you reduce the better to give glands chance to spark. Have a look at attached
healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk...
Obviously if it becomes too much, or you get other symptoms like nausea, lightheadedness etc then you need to get your Adrenal Glands checked in case it’s Adrenal Insufficiency - ACTH Simulation Test.
Hope you soon feel better.
The fatigue now is almost certainly poor adrenal function - do please speak to your doctor. And consider maybe having the odd day of a bit more pred?
Your response to' how do I post a pic of Daisy' was a bit confusing!!! Maybe you could give me more concise instructions!!!!🍷❤️🍷❤️🍷
Hey Morrison... just catching up with you... how are you doing?
You were having a rough week last, and I really hope its better now!
By the way...your little “monkeys” are delicious...i wish i could be there to hug on them with you.
Big hug and Kind Regards, Jerri
