Tired & Emotional! Is it the Roids?

Hard to express! I'm blaming the Roids! Stuck in roadworks bollocks when I cracked. Blasting 'Dancing in the Dark' bought on the tears. What was that about? Pulsating great beat. Why did I never really listen to the words before? Maybe this is positive sign of ageing! Don't want to be a blubbing wreck though. What would Mr Churchill say!!!!

Thanks Poop. But don't forget the swearing! If only I had a machine gun or rocket launcher! Some serious armoles on the road nowdays! Yep. Think I've landed back again!! Ah Ha.

I used to do 200mile round trip to work everyday on m1 and A1 in northern uk. Often wished I had a bond style machine gun....mainly at back. Tailgating drivers drive me to distraction. I try the old nod and smile approach now....folllowed by.middle finger for the really nasty ones. At present I have mini Cooper countryman sports model that has the old kickdown so I can speed past them in a second. My next car which arrived in 12weeks or so doesn't quite have street cred but same horsepower.i manage driving by either listening to my own music or bbc radio4ex DAB which is only plays and stories documentaries but no news stories. These days I would be tempted to swear even more and hit brick wall if I listened to the news. 😎🌻

Those small little islands are deadly round here. The crunch of metal & blasting of horns is constant. No brainers who miss the give way or don't understand priority to traffic to the right. We have an island within 200 yards from the house which ever way. So I am a cursing raving lunatic right from the start! Who needs steroids! You are right about the news. Self serving most of it is. AHHHHH! ATB

Oh, steroids! and I thought haemorrhoids were the the problem!? ( Piles of grief? piles of traffic? piles of ??????? on the road--persons who are'nt conversant with modern day driving/ persons who seem to have learnt their skills a computer race app?) Say no more!!

Yep, the roids definitely increase the swearing! I’ve been blaming them on all my problems. Hubby asks, yes, but do the give you Tourets too? 😏

PMR gives you Tourettes...

In the 5 years of PR/no pred my language was ripe. Upset my prissy OH something rotten. And it is still a mark of a flare - even long before the symptoms appear.

in reply to GerriMc

Think so. Emotional reactions so different. Never know till! It must be a tough life having Touretes though!

"Armholes" that just made me laugh out loud! 😂

It's a good job I haven't got a rocket launcher, having just nearly lost it with several people on the school run! Very loud music helped a lot! 😊

Actually he might understand...he had his “Black dog” days! And a bit more to worry about than road works 😏 but it’s all relative!

Agree with Poopadoop, done it many times.

Yes, there are some odd side effects with this disease. Not all are the same, mine is loss of balance to some extent. I find myself fighting to be me. If all this is bad for our age group, I feel sorry for those who will replace us eventually by age.

in reply to Oldman-1

Know what you mean. i too have had a change in my sense of balance. Mentally & physically. I feel different with heights. Looking out from a high window I have to step back in case I launch myself into flight! (No window cleaning for me Eh!) This is someone who replaced our ridge tiles a few years back! I'm not sure whether it's the illness, the steroids or my nerves going as I get older!! ATB

I went through a long phase of hating driving down the outside lane of the Brenner motorway when the inside lane was full of HGVs - almost like a claustrophobic feeling as it is a narrow motorway with concrete walls. Didn't experience it on more open roads.

I started to lose balance in mid 40s and my head for heights is non existent. Can't even watch those swooping overhead shots on tv. I went on one of those city centre wheels with neices as kids as freaked 😂

Funny that, I end up having a weep when I play music now. Hurdy Gurdy man by Donovan is making me weep now. Maybe as you get older you listen to the words far more. Dont buy papers very much now, all doom and gloom. I usually have a rant when Im picking up other peoples litter, try to switch off when Im driving, not that I do much of that these days. Better to be true to your emotions I think. Mind it could be that the steroids have a lot to answer for.

I never buy a paper - online is all I need, it's free so I don't feel badly done by when I have a paddy at them!

It is high time that your phone wouldn't work when inside a car though...

Litter and fly tipping my main bugbear. Local council must be sick of me sending emails with pictures. Not keen on potholes either. Wonder when I turned into Victoria meldrew. 😉

Haha, you should hear my invective about potholes/roadside rubbish and tailgaters... the air is blue and gets bluer each time I go out ( of course I'm a mild mannered driver) but....

in reply to tgca

My riad was finally repaved. Some potholes had been 6-9"" deep that I reported. Of course in November they came and tarmaced everywhere. The day after tbey had to scrape off 30ft if tarmac for some reason and redo it. 3 weeks later water board came and dug 2 massive holes up for planned work. Idiots.
