At hairdresser today and realised that around the side of my head where I had biopsy done in September is still quite numb. When washing my hair myself, not so noticeable but was strange today with other people washing then drying my hair. Not worried, just commenting then I'll "shrug it off" πππ

Random numbness
It sounds normal doesn't it, after the surgical procedure? I'd still mention it to my GP if it persists. I do worry about everything these days though.
Hello,
Doesn't surprise me. I think when we are touching our own head we are anticipating where we're going so the brain fills in the gaps with false sensation. Have you ever had it when someone is about to touch you when you can see it happening and then they stop just short? You actually feel some sort of sensation that isn't real. When someone else is washing your hair and you can't see what's going on, you can't do that and get what it really is i.e. numb. Also, you are concentrating on what you're trying to do which also filters out some of the weirdness around a scar.
Yes - it is a strange feeling isnt it? I have it around the knee and shin I mangled 24 years ago!
