Random pins + needles

For past few days I've had pins + needles down my right arm, occasionally left arm too. Just curious and wonder if it has anything to do with PMR. There may be no connection at all but everything makes me wonder.

Finally diagnosed early August 17. Now back down to 15mg from 3 weeks on 60mg after TAB showed no inflammation.

It may be your ulnar nerves are being pinched around the neck area - even tight muscles and the wrong position can be enough to cause that.

I defer to PMRpro's expertise, but just a couple of days ago I succumbed to Facebook click bait and read about signs and symptoms of Vitamin B12 deficiency, one of which is pins and needles sensation. And apparently by age 40 we are already becoming less efficient at absorbing this vitamin.

At 40 we're less efficient at most things - if you believe the so -called experts!

Except common sense, scepticism, sense of humour........I could go on 😉

I felt at 40 that my basic warranty had just about run out. At 70 I think the extended one has expired. 😉

NO! You just have to pay more for it!

Well, you can keep old appliances and vehicles running well past their best before date. But you're right, it does cost more. The point comes where it costs more to keep the old rattletrap running than to spring for a new one. Not there yet. 😎

No harm adding some extra to the diet!

With OA diagnosed 30 years ago I started taking a B supplement. Whenever I discontinued it I noted an increase in arthritic pain. Taking a new improved version now. I think it's doubly important now that I eat so little grain. Of course this hasn't prevented PMR.

As has been said, no harm in bumping up the B12 levels but of all the people I used to give B12 injections to or took blood from to test for it, none had very specific tingling on one side. It was more diffuse, both sides and all limbs if they got it at all.

I have pins and needles in legs mainly but sometimes in arms and on top of head, it is worse in cold weather. Consultant said could be vit b12 so got gp to test for it, I am in the uk, proved to be only slightly low so consultant put it down to pred side effect. Different gp prescribed gaberpentin (Neurontin) which did help until side effects of gaberpentin became worse than the pins and needles!
