Hi arangatang,

Think it's fairly common at higher doses, until your body gets used to it - what dose are you on, when did you start?

If you have only just begun Pred then give yourself time to get accustomed to it, like most side effects it will probably lessen as you get to lower doses.

Not nice in the meantime though.

If you do a google search it is obvious that many people find it at problem, especially at higher doses. Pred is known to cause cognitive changes - and that probably relates to the dreams.

I, on the other hand, never dream - or at least, to be more accurate, never remember a dream!

Try one of these suggestions. Take a valerian supplement before bedtime. It can help improve sleep quality and also the nature of one's dreams, no known interaction with prednisone. Or take a calcium supplement (with a little snack) about half an hour before lying down to sleep, as long as this is not within a couple of hours of any pred you may be taking.

Oh thats interesting I have lowered my prednisone form 7.1/2 to 7 and have started to have vivid dreams, one or two peculiar ones. Im so glad they are not nightmares! I hope Herons sugestions work for you.

My PMR onset coincided with the election of Trump, pre-Pred.

I keep hopng it's all just a nightmare - PMR, Pred & Trump.

I've always been a vivid dreamer and have certainly found that I've had even more complicated dreams since starting on pred - sometimes virtually amounting to 5-act plays. I don't really mind as they can be entertaining, though odd. I'm just fascinated by what the brain can come up with.

I wish I had vivid dreams. That would mean I slept long enough to get into a dream state! I miss sleep...
