Still not sure if I ever had pmra 😱

As people I talk to all had bad symptoms

Through the day.

With me as I can remember it was just waking up felling extremely stiff taking a lot of getting going. But doc diagnosed pmra which I new nothing about in those days.

But pred worked like magic.

My question is. If I ain’t got it and never had it

Should I be getting all the horrible stiffness

Sore head sometimes sweating like a donkey?.

Could all this be down to prednisone?

0n prednisone for nearly 5years That’s the only thing I’m sure of. 😳😩

Maybe you were just lucky that your doctor diagnosed it early before it reached the all day pain level. You say Pred worked like magic so surely must have been PMR. Maybe a flare but the wise ones will know better about that. Take care

If you had the symptoms and it responded like magic to pred then it very likely could have been PMR - no-one can say for sure because there is no definitive test.

But you are reducing your dose - and both reduction can cause these sort of symptoms and so can PMR. As we've said - the only way you will know you don't now have PMR is when you can get to zero pred with no symptoms coming back. There is no other way of knowing.
