Advice please

Advice please! My doctor has referred me to Rheumatology at Winchester Hospital in Hampshire although I would have preferred Southampton General. Does anyone on here have any experience of either hospital. Having read all your posts, I gather that not all Rheumatologists are up to speed with PMR.

Have experience of both - but unfortunately not the Rheumatology Depts! !

Dr Gairluc at Winchester is brilliant as are the rheumy nurses

Hi I live midway but generally go to Winchester, although I have not seen rhummy there.

I paid privately to see a Professor Edwards, at the Nuffield hospital in Chandler ford, a colleague of mine recommended him, as she also has PMR.

He was excellent . I believe he also has his own clinic under the NHS.

Prof Edwards at Southampton seems very knowledgeable on all matters Vasculitis... hope that's helpful

Thanks, Shella. Will try to see if I can be transferred to Southampton - never had much faith in Winchester!

Not all bad, my son was born there - but it was 46 years ago!!!!
