I have had niggling toothache in my front crown for a couple of days. Emergency dental appointment confirmed an infection for which I have been given Penicillin for a week.
What is alarming me is that my face is properly swollen on the left side, to the point of practically closing my eye first thing. I haven't much faith in my dentist ( he's just not very nice). Does this sound normal?
Could I get any more lovely to look at argh! Lop sided moon face, shoot me now!

Jane, see what it's like in the morning and then ring for an appointment with your GP before the weekend. The infection could have travelled, I suppose. Let's hope the Penicillin does the trick, otherwise you may need a different antibiotic - make sure it's one that doesn't interact with pred!
The moon face and the lop sided look will go, so hang on in there! Let us know how you get on.
At least swelling from that should come down. I have lopsided moon face but think it's cos I favour leaning my hand on that side of face. It's like a water bed when I move my hand. I hope infection sorted. Lots of salt water gargles!!
My face swelled on one side because of a dental infection after a root canal. My cheek got so huge that it nearly closed my eye. There was a localized point of swelling above the tooth inside my mouth too. The treatment was to lance and drain the infection at the local point inside my mouth and a week of antibiotics. It cleared up quite nicely and quickly.
