Can anybody recommend a Rheumatologist in West Wales and would it be worth trying to get a private consultation about my recently diagnosed PMR or should I just wait my turn?

There is little point going privately unless you are going to have to wait ages and you have real problems - in which case your GP could send you as an emergency anyway. Many people never see a rheumy, they are managed by their GP. If they are capable then sometimes they are better than a rheumy. If the symptoms respond well to a moderate dose of pred (up to 20mg) and you manage reduction without bother there is often no need.
