Hi. Can anyone recommend a Tai Chi class in Surrey, not too far from Weybridge? Am hoping Celtic might have some ideas as she recommended it for relaxation.

SusyTe, there are Tai Chi classes in the following towns just outside Weybridge:

Shepperton (Thamesmead School, Tues/Thurs evenings and Sat/Sun mornings);

Walton (Day Centre, Fri afternoon);

Ashford (Fordbridge Day Centre, Wed afternoon).

The teacher is Bill Hailey and more information is available on the following link: falling-leaf.com/

I have tried a couple of other classes in the area but found the most enjoyable and suitable ones for me are those run by Bill, particularly the classes where he includes Chi Kung. I never ceased to be amazed how relaxed and energised I felt after just an hour's class. He has also been a guest speaker at one of our Surrey group PMR/GCA meetings. If you haven't already heard about the group and would be interested in coming along and meeting other members who are battling through the crazy world that is PMR/GCA, please get in touch with me for further information. I hope this helps and do let me know how you get on.

Thank you so much, Celtic! Will look at Bill's classes. Re the Group meetings, I work and if I remember rightly they are held during the week? However, my days/hours may be changing so if you could remind me that would be most kind.

Yes, Susy, our meetings are during the day - once every two months on Tuesday mornings at 11am. I'm so in awe of those who work with PMR/GCA - just don't know how you do it, especially in the early days of treatment. Hats off to you!

I really wish I wasn't working - it is a huge struggle. But my boss is going to allow me to work from home on alternate days to see if that helps. Unfortunately the office days will be Tuesdays and Thursdays so I won't be able to make the meetings. Thank you anyway.
