Has anyone tried a Chi Machine? I am going to a retreat next week where they have one and wondered if it might do me good.

Suppose it might be a pleasant way to relax - but I wouldn't spend the money without having tried it and found it helped me. I'm not going to diss oriental medicine but I'm rather sceptical!

I don't think I would buy one either but it will be interesting to see what effect it has when I use it at the retreat next week - will let you know.

SusiTe do let us know how you get on. A retreat sounds marvellous. I think the very fact of trying various things helps us psychologically with this tedious limiting disease, it can feel quite claustrophobic.

The best pain killer and mood enhancer I have come across is 2 years old and called Theo. I don't know how he does it but from the moment he arrives until the moment he leaves I am utterly well. I wish I could bottle what he brings. Something physiological must happen, love induced endomorphines flooding the system? ( is that even a word?)

Not everyone has a grandson but doing what makes you happy really does help. I've started drawing again because of him too. Something I did every day as a child and haven't done for 40 years.

Sorry to ramble, good luck with your Chi machine. 😊

Thanks, Jane - I will definitely let you know when I get back - will most likely not be online while I am there. I am hoping it will do me good - particularly psychologically as I have been feeling very low and demoralised by this illness. If nothing else it will give me a break from work.

Theo therapy sound wonderful, bless him! :-) And how super that you have started drawing again after so long.

We don't have children or grandchildren - but if I ever manage to give up work we might get a cat and/or dog - I know it's not the same but it's the closest we will get. ;-)

Singing and dancing is what makes me happy - the former I can still do with my local Rock Choir but the Zumba I love so much has had to go out of the window, which is a blow. I have booked a beginners' yoga workshop for when I get back from the retreat - and advised the teacher that I have PMR. She says she will give me some gentle poses to do if some of them are too hard/intense, so I am hoping it will become a substitute for dance.

Thank you for the encouraging words.

Warm wishes,

Susy
