Hi,

Sorry to hear about your recent sore throat etc. Unfortunately that's probably had an effect on your PMR, hence your return of pain. The insomnia and night sweats could be due to the Pred or the PMR, so you may have suffered from them anyway.

MIght be worthwhile upping your Pred by a couple of mgs until your cough etc has gone, and you get back to feeling a bit more normal. In the meanwhile, keep warm, drink plenty of fluids and give yourself some TLC

We have had PMR for a similar length of time. Others who are far more knowledgable will be along soon....

Sounds like you have gone too low for you...at present. Viruses, stress all play a part it seems. I raised my pred this week and got rid of sweats and insomnia ...just like that! All the best to you. I hope you feel better soon.

Have you seen your GP? It sounds like you are trying to fight an infection/ virus with a depleted immune system, then PMR symptoms join in. Maybe it's time to try antibiotics as well as the good sense Dorsetlady advises about caring for yourself.

Hi Pieater67

As SheffieldJane asks have you seen your GP & do you have a temperature?

Facial Flushing in an evening has always been part of my PMR symptoms.

As DorsetLady says lots of TLC required as it's much harder for us to fight infection.

Hope you're feeling better today but if not, see you GP
