I have lots of muscle pain but I have good energy and want to do things that I cannot do because of muscle pain. I am not on Pred yet. Lately pain in hands is making life really hard. Not to mention pain everywhere else also.

CAN YOU HAVE PMR AND NOT FEEL BAD
Hi.
As we say - everybody is different, but your muscle pains certainly sound like PMR - it's how mine started. In biceps initially leading to shoulders. Never had hip or knee pains so could have been PMR or GCA certainly did turn into GCA eventually.
The fatigue most suffer did come along later - probably 6 months after initial symptoms.
Has PMR been considered by GP, if not then what? If it has, why aren't you on Pred ?
I suppose it all depends on how you define "not feeling bad". I wanted to do things I couldn't do because of muscle pain - or to be more accurate, there were things that made me hurt like h^££ but I still did them. Like skiing.
After 3 years of several different diagnosis ( excuse my spelling) (Fybromyliga, Hypersensitivity syndrome, and PMR) I am still managing it with pain meds. If I don't do any physical activity it just hurts. But if I walk too much like 1/10 of a mile it or try to ride a bike I can't even control it with pain meds. But other than pain I feel fine. It is very frustrating not to be able to exercise or go for a walk because I really want to and have the energy to do so.
I had a flu like feeling and also slowly the pain got worse and worse. It started in my shoulders then went to my legs.
Initially I had shoulder pain and decreased range of motion, neck and hip pain. I don't remember fatigue being a problem that early except from the pain tiring me out if I tried to do stuff. The deep "I can't function" fatigue that also comes with tears started later, when reducing too fast.
