Hi all, I wonder if someone can explain to me what ' cumulative dose' on my tapering plan means ?

I have PMR and GCA and started on 50mg Pred, I have noticed that as the pred dose reduced the cumulative dose rises, what does that mean ?

The cumulative dose is the total dose of pred you have taken since you started taking it - so it rises every day in fact, not just every time you reduce. For example, the cumulative dose would be the same for 1 month at 50mg/day or 2 months at 25mg/day.

Not something I have ever bothered about - the view is that increasing cumulative dose increases the risk of long term side effects. So what - I have to live now!
