Flushed face

Hi all,

Tapering down from pred now on 6 mg . Feeling pretty good and back exercising and walking . My prob at moment is highly flushed and hot face every evening feels like sunburn . Is this a side effect of pred ? Started at 40 mg last November and tapered fairly easily . Still look a bit like a chipmunk but can deal with that .

It could well be - rosy farmer's wife cheeks are common and I found mine definitely glowed after some sun! I also had problems around the t-shirt neck area.

The sun in April is very strong and you might find a high factor sunscreen helps. Some doctors hand out a prescription for Factor 50 to their pred patients.

I get hot flushed cheeks too, I'm also reducing prednisone have had this hot flushing particular at nights . Think it's just one of them things when mentioning it to my cardio guy he said I could have gene deficiency that dose not tolerate alcohol (don't drink very often any way) just thought I'd share it with you. Good luck it sounds what ever your doing it's working
