From wheelchair to Nepal Himalaya again!

I'm (hopefully) in the final stages of my steroid reduction programme since starting on 20mg Pred in May 2013. Over the last year as I've been in remission I've manage to complete lots of challenges again and raise lots of funds for charities e.g. Cuillin Ridge (Skye), Great North Run 13.1 miles, Tunnel to Towers (New York) 5km, UK 3 Peaks Challenge, Durham Raft Race. I've now decided to take the challenge further next October. My Fire & Ice Team are going to attempt an unclimbed summit - Mukot Peak (6,087m) which is a very remote corner of Nepal Himalaya. Hopefully I can fly the flag for all people learning to live with PMRGCA. "Invenium Vium aut Facium"

Jonny, I don't know how you do it but I take my hat off to you. All the charities concerned are so lucky to have people like you. Lots of good luck wishes to the Fire and Ice team for their next venture - love the dramatic photo.

He ran the GNR for us up North.

Have a look at the Fire & Ice site, see how much they have raised for Kids over the past 9 years.

Thanks guys. Mukot will take a lot of planning and fitness training over the next 11 months but that's part the excitement and the pleasure working together with good mountaineering buddies. By the way, Invenium Vium aut Facium means "I'll find a way or make a way" which has been Fire & Ice motto for the last 12 years, and holds good for people with PMRGCA. We found the statement on top of Mount Kenya.
