Angela, thank you and Lolly for drawing attention to the Daily Mail article on PMR/GCA. We could do with a few more such articles to raise awareness and spread the word.

Hi Celtic .. Yes the Daily Mail article is wonderful ..its good to know that more people are getting more aware of PMR / GCA and it needs lots of articles like that one to keep it in the spotlight. I have hated myself and my condition since seeing you at the meeting in October and spend most of my time in tears. I am still waiting to go on to the Methotrexate injections which at long last are being delivered tomorrow. I then have to wait another week for the nurse to arrive to get me started on them . I know I am lucky to be with a good medical team at long last and a very special Rheumatologist . I had the taping to my ankles and Calves at my osteopath yesterday .this seems to be working well and I can get my shoes on .. Hooray!! I hope you are OK Celtic !! Love trish29

Oh dear, Trish, I'm so sorry to hear that you are still awaiting the MTX. I can't understand why the nurse can't see you sooner if the injections are available from tomorrow. At least you've got one box ticked with the taping finally having got rid of the leg swelling. Hooray to you now getting your shoes on and fingers crossed the MTX will see you walking comfortably again in those shoes......perhaps even dancing at the Christmas party! Be patient for a bit longer though - it can take from a few weeks to a few months to really take effect. Let's hope you're nearer to the 'few weeks'. XXX
