My ‘Fire & Ice’ Team completed the 42nd UK 3 Peaks Challenge in a Gold Medal time. The challenge consists of walking/running the 3 highest peaks in the UK - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – in under 24 hours. The team completed the event with a total walking time of only 7:48 hours, and with the standard 11 hours of driving time, the Fire & Ice team completed the challenge in only 18 hours 48 minutes. This year I was driver/support but managed to get to the summit of Snowdon! I even received the 'Geoff Wicker Memorial Trophy' for Special Endeavour - not bad for someone in remission with PMR on steroid reduction programme :-)

This is the 8th time the Fire & Ice team have completed the UK 3 Peaks Challenge and now have 5 Platinum Medals (sub 17½ hours) and 3 Gold Medals (sub 20 hours).

Not only did we complete the event as described we also raised £1,500 for the Fire & Ice chosen charities which will be presented at our annual Charity Give Away evening on 2nd October. "Invenium Vium aut Facium"

Thanks for all your best wishes - remember you kept me going when I needed it most over the last 18 months. Don't forget that everyone has their own mountain to climb - remember to focus, remain and take small steps and you will get you there :-)
