It could be - but remember that having PMR doesn't exempt you from other illnesses and being on pred may affect your immune system enough to make you more likely to catch an infection. Have you been in contact with anyone with a bad cold or flu? A flare of PMR usually is similar to how your PMR presented in the first place - so how does that measure up?

Yes I have, a week ago I went to the hairdressers, two had flu like symptoms and the other had vomiting and diarrhoea, my pain was no way as bad as when I was diagnosed with pmr. thanks pmrpro for always giving such comforting advice x

Poor you dillydally. It will probably take a couple of days to see whether it is a virus/infection you are harbouring - meanwhile paracetamol for a couple of days may help with the sweating etc. Importantly, if you were planning a reduction in your steroid dose, then hold off on that until you feel completely well again. Hope you soon feel better.

I have found sage leaf tablets help with the sweating ... Can get them from holland and barret or online...they work brilliantly for me x
