Have you got a question 2watsons? I was on Methotrexate for 2 years. I stopped taking it as it just stopped working for me and I wasn't getting any benefit.

It did allow me to get down to 2.5mg Prednisolone, but as you have already had vision problems that is probably too low a dose for you.

How much Methotrexate are you taking? I have been on Methotrexate 15mgs. since June 2012, reduced to 10mgs. weekly in June this year, and managed to get off Prednisolone, but, unfortunately, only for a couple of months before I had a flare up of my GCA and PMR developed. Now back on 9mg. Prednisolone daily and 10mgs. Methotrexate weekly together with the usual bone protection drugs and Folic Acid, Aspirin and Omeprazol. I also take Bisprolol 2.5mgs. for heart irregularity and angina, which manifested itself right at the beginning of my condition in November, 2010. All good wishes to you. Tomasina
