I have been recently been getting pain mainly in my right thigh and left arm, is it common to have for instance, pain in one leg and not the other? I've read that PMR usually affects limbs in pairs. The right leg is the problem one with the hip and ankle a lot worse than the other side, this even affects the way I walk.

Pain mainly on one side of the body?
Good morning loco99 . I'm Trish 29 and sorry to know that you are having pain. I started getting dreadful pain in my left leg over a year ago which prevents me from walking , I believe that it is mainly coming from my lower back ,I can't get just a short walk to the end of the road to get a bus, but my usual morning PMR/GCA pain is more on my right side in upper arm ,knock and shoulder . As stated on the Forum many times we. PMR/GCA sufferers are all different and get our pain depending on what is going on in our body. I would definately get your pain checked with a GP. I hope you get this response as I've been struggling with the new posting but think that the PMR/GCA FORUM has been so helpful in the past that I would hate to be without the help and support that it gives. Best wishes Trish 29

Hi loco99, you have just described the exact symptoms that presented when I first became ill with this awful illness, almost 7yrs ago, and to this day they have not changed. However I have additional pain from time to time. They come and they go but make life very difficult for me. Walking is a big problem as pain restricts any movement that I make. I sincerely hope you feel better soon, take care, Cynbil (Cynthia) x
Thank you, Trish and Cynthia. I'm pleased to hear that my symptoms are not completely unusual. Like everyone else I have good and bad days. Recently I have been having problems with my ankles, feet and tendons but am slowly improving with the help of exercises and inserts that fit in my shoes. The problems are a lot worse in my right leg and the biokineticist I see weekly said this has affected my gait. I will continue with the exercises and hope my funny walk isn't permanent. I am so pleased to have found this forum with its helpful, knowledgeable and sympathetic members.
