Have doubled up on stomach protecters, because I have 'bowel issues'. Is this common! Also! Does anyone find they are irritable over silly little things. ie. My partner 'drumming' his fingers on the table! Thanks. Ann
Hello, I have gone back up to20mg from 15mg of pr... - PMRGCAuk
Hello, I have gone back up to20mg from 15mg of pred. For 10 days. As was having neck / shoulder pain.
Hello Ann
Do you eat 'live' yoghurt? If not, then you might find it will help your "bowel issues". I actually had a very bad reaction to the stomach protectors (diarrhea) when prescribed alongside 40mg of Pred and was advised to stop taking them. I was a bit concerned what the steroids might do to my stomach so I ate a 'live' yoghurt with my muesli breakfast each morning before taking the Pred and never experienced any problems. Worth a try perhaps?
As to whether we find we get "irritable over silly little things", I'm sure you will have a resounding "yes" from the majority!
I hope your neck and shoulder pain improve quickly with the increased dose.
Thanks! I dont eat yoghurt - hate the stuff! But will give it a go! I found the stomach protectors do help to reduce it. Yes the increase back to 20mg is working. I have been lucky since diagnosed. I work 18 hours a week, feel less tired. Find I can pace myself. I did race for life 5k walk ok. So I cant moan. Its really nice not waking up each day thinking - which bits ache today! When I read how debilitating others find this my problems seem minimal. Its good to be able to check stuff out on here. Where people know exactly what I. Mean. Take care. Thanks again. Ann. Must be more tolerent with my finger drummer!
