There are indications that this is the case. There is quite a lot of research going on right now, not only in general, but also in specifics - the Bristol group are looking at Pred doses and management. Currently a fast-track pilot is taking place where GP's are asked to refer cases of suspected GCA as an emergency and this is having very good results. It is hoped that it can be taken on nation-wide eventually.
