hello ! I'm 63. Had uterus and fallopian tubes removed and bladder attached to ligaments 24 hours ago. Back pain has been a real issue. Also: venting here, but my bladder was still numb at time of discharge so I couldn't void. Sent home with a catheter...anyone else feel as if they got the bums rush? Seems to me one overnight should have been an option. Anyway the catheter is coming out tomorrow. Two questions: how long generally before I feel more human, and anyone else have trouble with constipation? I took colase laxative but no go ! Thanks for reading this!

Hi, I’ve had similar, constipation is due to the morphine and ges better after a couple of weeks, drink lots of water, stay off meat and chocolate, bladder feels weird some days even now , but water is the cure.best of luck. By the way get twinges lower right some times 2 years later, it s where they cut and sewed the ligaments so don’t get too scared, thought I had appendicitis at onetime.

Can take up to 3mths for things to settle, have plenty of rest, drink lots of water and have healthy diet for Bowel frequency.

It is fairly common to be sent home with a cathetar I would share my concerns with medical team regarding your bladder. Wish you good luck with your recovery.
