Anyone know of any cheap travel insurance I... - PBC Foundation
Anyone know of any cheap travel insurance I can buy. As soon as I mention pbc the cost shoots up or they refuse me.
Try Colubus Direct I have just used them £178 for 6weeks in New Zealand and I am over 64 not saying how much over. X
Endsleigh do health insurance. My son works for the company and did inform me after I was diagnosed that if you have been diagnosed for 12mths and your tablet dosage has remained the same then they will insure but obviously you'd have to ring and check.
You can get a list of current insurers from the Liver North website newsletter. Just click on the latest one and open up the newsletter, normally at the end of it.
I did enquire to the British Liver Trust last year and someone kindly emailed me their current list of insurers to try. Hope this helps. I've not yet been out of the UK for a holiday and possibly unlikely to now (unless it is Ireland). So I'm not a pro on this matter.
I had the same problem trying to get insurance for a recent trip to America. I had quotes for premiums for up to £900. I got cover from the Post Office insurance.I explained about my pre- condition of PBC and all they wanted to know was my condition stable. Although I have had the condition for 11years my condition is stable( my consultant confirmed this) and I received the normal insurance cost (no premium).

I also have PBC, however the Cirrhosis has not developed as of yet. I asked my physicial to help me answer the health questionaire. Yes I have liver disease but NO I do not have cirrhosis. He described my disease at this time as auto immune hepititis. You might ask your physician for clarification when answering the travel health questionaire.
