Peripheral Neuropathy

I was wondering if anyone has neuropathy in feet and lower legs. I was diagnosed 5 years ago with PBC. I’ve had a EMG which determined small fiber sensory neuropathy. I seem to be having a flare . I have pain that fluctuates from right knee to left ankle besides the tingling and numbness that is present. I also get muscle twitches constantly in my calves. Due to see neurologist In A few weeks. Thanks for sharing any experiences.

I was diagnosed with CIDP not long after pbc. Not at all common, and as far as I know, not connected. I have infusions of Intragam every six weeks and my cidp is completely controlled.

Thanks for sharing. From research I've done there have been cases of neuropathy related to PBC. Small sensory fibers are usually affected. That's why I wondered how many others with PBC also have neuropathy.

Hi Klross

I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy and am medicated with Neurontin also known as Gabapentin. I am on a low dose of 3 X 100mg a day which keeps the discomfort in the feet rather than crawling up my legs as it was before.

best wishes

Thanks. Neurologist did put me on Gabapentan but said 300mg at night. Took first dose and felt very lightheaded in morning. Now trying 150mg nightly for a week working up to 300mg. May take it earlier in evening so side effect isn’t as pronounced in morning.
