Yes, although if you have a fatty liver too, it is not ok. My GI doc said only Splenda does not make a fatty liver. All other sweeteners function like sugar or and processed similarly by the liver and can make then fatty deposits more prominent.
The GI doc told me yes. I then went to UCLA to my hepatologist and he said yes as well. He actually told me I had no eating restrictions, but warned against eating too much sugar because of my dual diagnosis with fatty liver.
