Pbc and pregnancy

Hi i was diagnosed with pbc 2 years ago and have always found the itching the worst symptom for me i am now 20 weeks pregnant and the itching has intensified so much that it's at times unbearable has anyone else had this issue and what was used to treat or ease the itch?

Ask your doctor about Cholestyramine Powder. Others have used this for their itch and have got some relief.

Naltrexone , rifampin, sertaline, gabapentine can all be tried but not sure when pg.... hope you get some relief it’s horrific

I use coconut oil for my skin and cold ice packs as I have irretractable itch :((

i had a really rough pregnancy with our fourth child..... i did not know what it was at the time.. but discovered after he was born that it was pbc.

the itch was beyond intolerable.... i spent all night itching /scratching.... in a cold shower and all day in bed!!! as was sick all the time....

it did calm a bit better after birth but didn't go.

just dig in there.... hopefully the months will pass quickly.
