People are great on here. They give good advice and try to answer any questions you may have. I have learnt a lot on here and after the initial panic and reading other people's experiences I felt a lot better.

Hello Fiona_scott889.

I was diagnosed with PBC December 2010 after starting to itch early that year.  Started urso at diagnosis.   My itching has altered and not as severe as it was (24 hours a day) in 2010.  So far apart from abnormal blood work I dont' seem to have any other symptons that I know of with my PBC.  i try to keep as active as possible, walking seems to be more my thing, do lots.  I am now 52 by the way.

Also check out the Liver North (based in Newcastle, England) site as you can request their dvd all about PBC free of charge.  I'll pop the link on.  You can also read current and back issues of their newsletters.  They seem to cover a lot on PBC.  There is also the British Liver Trust site, you can see a leaflet on PBC that you can download.

That's great thank you, the itching is horrible any ideas on how to manage it?

i get a horrible itch because of my livr disease and in the past scratched until it bled and got infection as my immune system is low also. i now use a very rough sock or any rough material to give it a good scratch without tearing the skin and letting infection in, you'd be surprised how good it is and also you could use a nice body brush and be doing two things at once. having a good scratch and removing dead skin cells.it also helps with vascular circulation and lymphatic drainage. hope this is a help.💐
