When you have got the results back from St Thomas has your GP taken any notice of them ie changed your treatment etc
Do GP's accept that the test is valid?

I dont think any GP can question the validity of results coming out of St. Thomas Hospital. it is a top London teaching hospital! Your comment implies that your GP is not accepting or acting upon the results. Does the result sheet give any recommendations, you could try ringing St. Ts and asking what your next step should be regarding treatment. Would they communicate with your GP/surgery? Just a thought. If your GP has results and fails to act upon them surely they are moving towards negligance, again just a thought. Good luck .
Hi,
My Daughter had the active B12 test after a 7 month gap of no B12 jabs, the result confirmed B12 def (low active B12, high MMA) and she is now on B12 treatment for life. The stopping of B12 jabs (after 3 years of regularly having them) was an agreement with her GP (She wanted, or more hoped she could now do without). GP did not seem to have problems with the results from St Thomas, but perhaps it helped that her serum B12 had also dropped, and it needed little to see it would drop under normal in another 6 months or so without treatment.
If your GP has problems understanding the results it will be best for him/ her to contact direct, the contact details will be on the result form from ST Thomas..
Kind regards,
Marre.
