I am doing a post with the information because I am aware that I promised to send this to several people and life keeps getting in the way so apologies.
I obtained these reports via a Functional Nutritionist and she wrote an additional more personalised plan for me based on the results.
The mineral hair test was with Mineral Check, based in Kent and was around £70 from memory.
The DNA methylation test was via Lifecode Gx which I think is a US based organisation and the cost was around £200 from memory.
I have found both tests extremely useful in tailoring and targeting my application of supplements to treat and manage my PA.
I have also had subsequent reports which I have yet to receive on other issues such as metabolism and toxins. If I learn anything that assists with my recovery I shall let you know.
all the best everyone

I’m waiting for my hair analysis report, it is due today. Looking forward 🤞to seeing if it gives me some further insight into my deficiencies (or not!).
That’s great. I hope unlike me you didn’t accidentally take your hair sample from a highly visible location. I looked like Woody Woodpecker for months!! 🤣🤣
I know DNA methylation testing is still a bit controversial but I did the saliva test, which basically showed it’s no surprise why high dose folic acid had such a bad effect on me. Tbf I had already changed to folinic acid (and a lower dose) and was pretty much taking all the other vitamins the testing suggested I should be when I got the results, but it was still gratifying to know that all the suspicions I had developed from scientific papers seemed right. It also goes some way to explaining why I also have hEDS (there’s research linking it to MTHFR and impaired folate processing).
