There is at least one folic acid injection (also in 15 milligram dosage).

Hello, I use methyl folate vs some that say folic acid. From what I gather folic acid and methyl folate are close to the same except methyl folate is more of the pure natural form. Here's what it says about both from the internet. What is the difference between methyl folate and folic acid? ... In contrast, methyl folate is the bioactive form of folate, already in the necessary enzymatic form that the body can immediately use for cellular functions and energy production. As the most effective form of folate, methyl folate bypasses the complex conversion processes required by folic acid. So, using the methyl form is best for me. I also try to watch all the extra "bad" additives some companies put in their formulas. I use the ones that dissolve under your tongue. I prefer the sublingual as they are tiny. I buy mine from Superior Source Methyl Folate 1,000 mcg. (from Amazon)

Thank you all for your responses. I've decided to try taking a folate supplement by mouth and seeing if that helps... I bought one at a health food store but suppose i need to look carefully at what's in it!
