this is a tuffy. I can totally understand that money is tight and so many best by dates are "best by" not "use by"

I would look at it this way. If you bought the stuff in say 2020, have been using it since then and it's been good and effective, then think how you stored it. If it was kept at around 10-15 degrees C (I believe this is ideal but am willing to be corrected ) during all this time, then think how many are left? if it's only a few, then thowing them away is not loosing too much money. If there are a great many? Why? Were they short best by date when the company delivered them to you? Obviously not delivered to you in 2020 then....contact the company if they were short best by, and see if they are willing to give you a discount on the next order.

I feel your pain, it's hard to get by in this day and age, especially when we cannot just go and do a few hours of overtime, when we can not work at all, and barely look after ourselves. I read with jealousy but also AMAZING HOPE peoples stories who can run or walk several miles now. So inspiring.

I hope you make the right choice and the company is reasonable. All the best
