Chronic exhaustion

Hi, I have a question! I have had chronic exhaustion for about a year now It felt better when I started b12 in back in May, The problem is that once my neuropathy flared up from treating it with the b12 , the exhaustion came back I had COVID 6 weeks ago for the first time and was pretty sick It was easy to blame that! but, as my husband reminded me could barely manage more than 1 or 2 small chores in a day Before I feel I am only managing about 20 % of my once normal life and wondered if anyone else was like this. I'm SI daily but still in so much pain with the neuropathy, I thought I would have gotten over the exhaustion by now. I am taking gabapentin now reluctantly as the pain was getting too much and am trying not to have to take too much of it Thanks for sharing x

I am so sorry brenanddave,

COVID is yuck. Your immune system has taken a whack. 70% of the immune system is in the gut.

So, with that in mind, it is about working on that by diet and other supplements. I do hope you are taking a multivitamin too and a good diet. See how you fare with yoghurt with live bacteria. There are dairy free ones, if that is problematic.

Although, lack of appetite is a common symptom of post viral fatigue. A good soup or broth, now that the weather has cooled in the U.K.

Sorry to read about neuropathy. Some of us find Lion’s Mane (bought in capsule form) beneficial but what works for one does not work for another.

Now this is the difficult part, you have caught a virus and were pretty sick. So, how does a person recover is the question ? Answer, very gently and slowly. You are made of approximately 30 trillion cells.

Your mind is telling you one thing but your body is saying something totally different. If you listen to it, instead of ignoring it, your healing journey will rather different. By having a relaxed approach, your body will have more oxygen, your cells will repair and heal. They will strengthen and there is more proliferation (cell growth).

😘

Awww!! Thank you for your wise words, I have been feeling very vulnerable with my body doing all these crazy things and gradually getting worse Though I now have a lovely new doctor who also suffers from chronic exhaustion and neuropathy, I have only had one appointment at this point I have seen 4 different doctors over the past 5 months before him and none were helpful I just feel like I have lost my mobility and life at the moment and it is scary! I am eating ok! And putting on weight as I am not very active with my legs lke this But my taste bus were affected for a while with the b12 def and then with covid It OK now x

I’m in the same boat. The exhaustion was only just lifting with SI but covid has knocked me out.

I'm so sorry to hear that! Its crazy how much it can stop you living your day to day life How long has it taken you to get your energy back? And how often did you need to SI? x

OMG! Thats so long So how much are you finding you can actually do during a day then? I am finding that if I walk my dogs, I am unable to the next day and am on the couch all day and evening apart from maybe putting a load of washing through Hanging it out is quite tiring Crazy how these things a a big deal now and you take it so much for granted when you are well Today I tried gardening, aahh That lasted all of 10 as I had no stregth in my arms Are you like this too? x

I was like that at first. I can do a bit more now. But it’s all a payoff. It’s far from normal!

So! How much is from the covid and how much from the PA do you feel?Sorry for all the questions I am still trying to figure this all out

I think it’s likely mostly covid made worse by our B12D. I was back on my feet last November after six months SI and covid knocked me on my arse again.

Maybe check your ferritin levels, as B12 injections can lower iron reserves and that can also make you exhausted

Yes! Unfortunately I have hemochromatosis where my body just stores iron and I need blood taken off to lower ferritin
