Everyone has amazed me with their rapid response to my post. What a good crowd you all are. How lucky we are to have such a well organised forum.

In answer to your questions. My partner has been on Lansaprozole for 25 years for gastric pain due to acid reflux. Attempts to stop it causes gastric pain. and indigestion

She had a gastroscope recently and told to continue the medication. I do wonder if the proton pump can recover its effectiveness after discontinuing.

I agree that the sudden loading doses could cause a reaction of acne type. Hopefully with maintenance doses she might tolerate the B 12 and continue the recovery from her symptoms. We will look into the possibility of using antihistamines

I do wonder if we were dwelling too much on the Cobalt issue as common sense makes it obvious that there are small challenges from metals all the time.

It seems that the skin reaction to B 12 is not uncommon and that it recovers over time.

My partner has an appointment to see her GP. It will be interesting to hear his advice. I will let you know.

Thank you all for your thoughtful advice.

We do have such a complicated an “interesting “ condition. I Just hope researchers and all those trying so hard to find the answers will manage to untangle the complexity of our complicated and stressful problems.
