If you get B12 injections with your GP , they will always be Intra-muscular injections . But if you self inject , you can use the Sub-cutaneous method .and inject with a shorter needle ( 1/2 inch ) into tummy fat or into the front of the thigh . Works well .
I have b12 ampoules prrscribed for Subcutaneous Injectiond at home.I have intramuscular at the surgery .
Sc are off licence for b12.
But possible.
My gps sought a neurologists advice.
Best to get NHS b12 prescription first.

Depends on where you are? In US I get my preloaded SC syringes of MethylCobalamin from a pharmacy in Hopewell New Jersey. I'm not sure why IM injections are used unless SC does not work first. I've always had SC and they work perfectly.
